Is this the year of the Chicago Cubs?
Friday, September 28, 2007

With the baseball season just three days from being finished, the team from the North side of Chicago, are ONE game from clinching a playoff berth. For the second time in the millennium, they WILL win the National League Central Title. This is a great accomplishment, since they have only won the division title, three times in 30 years, and that is my whole life time.

Is this the year the curse is finally broken? Do we get our hopes up, only to be shot down again? Is the hitting line up and pitching staff good enough to win the world series? Is Lou Pinella the savior of the Cubs?

I am going to end this post with a little song.............

"Take me out to the ball game,

Take me out with the crowd.

Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack,I don't care if I never get back,

Let me root, root, root for the Cubbies,If they don't win it's a shame.

For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,

At the old ball game."

Pay Per Post
With Christmas time coming up sooner than we think, and having three small children at home, I have been trying to find some ways to make money off of my blog. After researching a few of my fellow blogger’s blogs, I finally found a wonderful way to do it! www.payperpost.com

At
www.payperpost.com they give you a list of things you can choose to write about, you pick which ones you feel strongly about or you feel best suits your page, write a blog and wait a few days, and get paid! Easy enough? I am actually getting twenty dollars just to write this!

So if you are looking for extra cash, give
www.payperpost.com a shot! All you have to do is sign up and then write a disclaimer, which I have done so on the side of my page, start writing your blogs and then get paid! You can even donate your earnings to a few select charities.

Trust me, I do my research before jumping in to things like this (and its hacker safe.) I am just so excited to find an easy way to make some extra cash. I am not worried about losing any readers, because at
www.payperpost.com when you choose one of their topics to write about and post, you also have to post a blog of your own. So stop wasting time and get out there and make some cash!

Brett Favre: Is he the Greatest QB of all time?
Thursday, September 27, 2007

Brett Favre was drafted a no name player out of University of Southern Mississippi, in the 2nd round by the Atlanta Falcons in the 1991 NFL Draft. He was later traded to the Green Bay Packers. He was on the bench for the first 3 games of the season, when he got his call. He has started in every game since then. He has played in 241 regular season games and 261 total games(including playoffs). He has lead his team from behind many times to win a game. He been name League MVP 3 times. Has lead his team to 2 Superbowl's, winning the first and losing the second to the Denver Broncos. He owns his rival Chicago bears with a record of 22 wins and 8 loses with a 12-2 record in Chicago. His longest pass of 99 yards came against the bears. He then thrives in the big games. He know holds many NFL records including most career pass completions (5,101) Most Career Regular season Wins by a Quarterback (150). Most seasons with 30 or more Touchdown Passes (8). As of Right now he is about 3000 yard off of breaking the career passing yard record of 61,361.

The only knock I see against him is that he has only led his teams to 2 superbowls, he only has one ring. He is still a remarkable QB. I like the way that he handles himself on and off the field. In 2004, he helped the Katrina victims by sending food and water and materials to help rebuild.

He always seems to come up big in games when something bad has happened to his family. His father died the day before they were to play a Monday night game in Oakland. Everyone was not sure he was going to play and he came out and led his team to victory by throwing 4 touchdown passes. He is absolutely amazing and my feeling is that there will never be another Quarterback like him. I may be a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, but I love watching Brett Favre Play. I would take him on my team no matter how old he is . What are your thoughts about him being the greatest of All time? If you do not think he is one of the greatest of all time who is?

Week 4 in the NFL!!!
Helllo Sports fans. My picks were not the very good last week. I only go 2 right. Really bad, considering I pick all of them right in week 2. My Record Currently stand at 8 wins and 7 loses. At least I am still over 500 for the year. There was alot of Exciting games on last week. Philly in there ugly throw back uniforms wins there first game, the steelers win a game over a winning team and the Bears show that they are not the defending NFC Champs like they were a year ago. OK My MVP Picke for week 3 is none other that Donovan Mcnabb. What a Great performance.

Week 4 Picks
Carolina over Tampa Bay
Houston over Atlanta
San Franciso over Seattle
New York Giants over Philly

Upset of the week
Cincinnati over Patriots.

This That and Whatever!!
Tuesday, September 25, 2007
The title of this blog may have you all wondering what this is about. Well I am not sure what this is really about. OK here I go, Have you ever been in one of those moods were you think that he whole world is against you? Where everything you do is not right? I know you have had one of those days. I felt I was having one of those days this morning. I work my butt off when I am at work. But, you have people that do not see it as that. They see it as sucking up to get ahead. I am a very sociable person and love to talk. Does not matter the subject. I can talk Politics, History, Current Events, I really love to talk about sports. So people see that is I am tyring to get ahead. That is were the whatever comes in!! I was raised to treat other like you want to be treated. I feel that if you treat them with Respect you will get it back. I have worked with some people in my life time that have no value to there job. They look at it as a place to come hang out and have fun. They also are the ones that is so far up the Boss's butt it isn't even funny. I worked with a guy at a certain sports store that thought he was that he was the greatest at everything. Could do nothing wrong, Stronger that anyone, Was always right about everything no matter what the subject was. This guy has a high school education and feels he is the ruler of the world. Then one of the shift managers thought he was really cool and would do anything to fit in. He was one that mommy gave him everything so he did not have to work for nothing. That is not the way to get ahead. He would lie, cheat and steal. Where did that get him. FIRED for letting his friends steal. So is it really worth it? I think not. He gets it on his record that he was convicted of stealing. Then I go to a place where my co worker actually told me to not go so fast, to work at a slow pace so it looks like I was busy all the time. When I would not do it she was complain that she has lots to do of stuff my boss should of been doing. What is up with that? Lazy people drive me insane. Why would you come to work and let other people outshine you, but they want to take all the glory and said look what I did. It is all about ME,I really really hate it. Cause it is not one person that makes a team work. It is about everyone you work with. It is about creating a Team atmosphere that everyone gets along and it is not about I did this and look at me I am winning. If you want that go and be a sales man cause that is where you get the glory. I know this blog sounded like a bitch session, but I am tired of people no being reliable or questioning what you give them when you turn something over to them, I am tired of people saying "oh I know what you are feeling" when tell them there is a clear issue. They would also say I have to talk to the manager about. There is that me again. I would like them to say well lets work on getting there. But hey I know I am not perfect and will never be. I feel these people that think they are perfect are the ones that are not going to get anywhere. They set and bitch and moan and will do nothing to change. They are also the ones that will sit and cry like babies cause they did not get picked for something. I would like to say to those people suck it up, you are not going to make it in the world acting like a BIG BIG Baby!!! But like I said I will treat others as I want to be treated. So is there people out there that you know that are always in your business? Always calling you names cause you do work hard to accomplish goals? Even the Person that thinks they are getting ahead by saying look what I did? It is all about ME people? Lastly how about the I am perfect and can do no wrong? Let me know your thoughts.

NFL Week 3
Thursday, September 20, 2007
Hello Sport Dirt Fans! I went 5 and 0 last week. Bring my over all record to 6 wins and 4 loses.I am very surprised that I pick all my games right. Last weekend I seen alot of Great games. The Colts VS Titans was a great game that came down to the wire. I really wish I could of seen the Browns vs Bengals. I would not of even imagined the Browns winning that game. Also I am going to say that I am sticking with my AFC Superbowl pick of the New England Patriots, but I dont know who they are going to play since the Eagles are 0 and 2. Also, with Donvann McNabb going out and saying that black QB's have a harder time, that is a different blog article for later. My MVP for week two is going to be Running back Jamal Lewis who had 215 yards rushing and 1 touch down.

Week 3 Picks
Tampa Bay over St Louis
Pittsburgh over San Fransico
Denver over Jacsonville
Miami over the New York Jets

Upset
Detriot over Philly

Until next week

Dale Earnhardt JR to Drive 88 Mountain Dew Car.
Wednesday, September 19, 2007
Hello all, I have just Read that Dale Earnhardt Jr will be racing the number 88 next year. I have a feeling the care is going to be green. I feel that the Move to Hendrick Racing will be good for him. It is time for a change. But the will he every be a competitor like his dad? I don't think so. The reason he does not have the balls to drive like his dad. His Dad would do anything Possibly to win. I really would liked to seen him go to drive the black 3. I know that alot of people would not like to see it but what would it hurt? But Like I said he will never do it. So what are everyone thoughts on the announcement? Does anyone think he will every drive the 3 for Richard Childress or does he stay in the 88?

This and That In MLB!!!
Major League Baseball has about 2 weeks left in the season and there is alot of interesting story lines that are playing out. The first that has caught my attention is the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox Race for first place in the division. At one point the Yankees were 9 games out going into labor day weekend. They ended up sweeping them and picking up ground. As of last night the Yankees are now 2 games behind the Red Sox's and up four and a half in the wild card. I would like to keep the streak of 10 division titles alive and win the division.

The other race that has also caught my eye is the national league east. The Milwaukee Brewers had a nice 6 game lead at the all start break. But the Chicago Cubs, who have been playing really good baseball are tied with the brewers for first. Is this the year the Cubs get over the hump? Being from Illinois I would love to see them go to the world series. It is time for them to break there 99 year drought.

I know I have said in early post that cubs would have a hard time beating the Yankees but if the Yankees give it there all to win the division they may have nothing left for the playoff to even make it to the world series. What is something that has caught your attention this last month of September? Who would you like to see win the World series?

May the Force be with you !!!

OJ Simpson: Trouble Again.

One week after I seen the Ron Goldman's family on Oprah Winfrey discussing the controversial book that was written in the words of O.J Simpson "If I Did it", Simpson is back in the news again in Las Vagas on an accusation that he broke into someones room to recover memorabilia that Simpson reportedly said was stolen from him too. This time instead of being accused of murders he is being charged with 11 criminal account, that range for burglary to kidnapping and ass ult. For a man that is 60 years old and has gotten off on murder, you would think he would want to stay out of the spot light, since he does own the families of Nicole brown and Ron Goldman for being found guilt in the civil case. They are also holding him in a jail cell without bail. I think they are doing this time, because they want to avoid the circus that went on with the case in 1994.What is this man thinking? He is found guilty on charges that I feel that he did do, Then he comes up with the plot to break into someones hotel room to get back items that he says are his? I think that he is still living in a fantasy world. I was one for a long time that felt he was innocent, until I have a great busness law case. In that class the instructor opened my eyes to him being guilt. OJ is a hot tempered person, who should of had to take anger management class. The other thing I don't understand is how does he look his kid's in the eye and tell them he did not murder there mother? In closing I feel that OJ is getting what he deserves, he may final spend some time behind bars. What are all your opinions out there on OJ Now and OJ before the 1994 case? Do you think he was guilt of murder or murder? Also, to you think justice will be served.

Jim Thome's 500th Home Run.
Monday, September 17, 2007

Jim Thome hit his 500th Homerun Yesterday. In the era of baseball that has been contamenated by steriod use, Here is a guy that goes out and plays his heart out for the love of the game. I would like to congradulate Jim on this accomplishment. He is from my home town of Peoria, IL and I am glad to see someone from around here make it to the big time. It was really nice to see him get it on a gaming winning home run in front of his friends and Family. It is also Nice to see Jim give back to the community that he grew up in. He does alot for the Childrens Hospital in peoria and alot for the community. Once again Congrads Jimmy, You deserve everything you worked hard to acheive. Could he be considered a hall of Famer? I know in this day and age in baseball 500 home runs is coming more and more easy. I feel he does deserve it because he has always been a team player and goes out and give 100 percent when he plays. What does everybody else thing?

Survivor Out Wit, Out Play, Out Last!!

Hello everyone out there. I was watching a the bears vs chiefs game yesterday and I seen a commerical for Survivor. I have watched the show in the past, but I have not watch the last couple of seasons. The reason is they were the samething. The thing that caught my eye this time was that they are in China and I think it will be really interesting to watch them on land instead of on an island. I know they have done thes before by going to australia and Africa, but China is going to be interesting becuase I think I will get to learn alot about the history and culture of it. My Favorite Season is still All Star. I think that it was cool to see the former cast memebers come back. I really felt that Rupert should of won both Panama and All star. Reason is beause he played the game the way it should be played. Anyway how many of you out there still watch the show? Also are you looking foward to this up coming season?

Music that gets you Pumped up for the Big Game.
Saturday, September 15, 2007
As I sit here listening to some music it brought a thought to my mind. I see all these athletes out there wearing there headphones before the game. They are using the music to get there mind focused on what needs to be done on the field or even on the courts. When I get ready for a game of any type I am thinking about what music I want to listen too get me ready. It really depends on the mood I want to be in. If I want to go out there and have fun and be pumped I will listen to anything you can dance too. If I know that it is all about business I put on that makes me think about the task at hand. It could be anything, from Eminem to Metallica.

What is it that my fans out there listen to get themselves ready for the big game?

College Football Chat.
I really havent written much on the games in college. I have been keeping a close eye on what is going on. I think this weekend there is some really interesting matchups. To Start you have the 0 and 2 bowl of Michigan and Notre Dame vs Michigan. Which I have already discussed them early in the week. The game I am really looking forward to watching is USC travel to Nebraska to take on the Corn huskers. There has been a lot of talk of this game on the radio all week. I think it could end up being a really competitive game. USC's high power offense against Nebraska's Tough Defense. In the end I feel that USC is going to roll Nebraska by more than 21 points. But, I could be wrong. What are all of you out there in blog land or even in the sports world opinions? Also what game are you looking forward to watching?

NFL Thoughts!!!
Friday, September 14, 2007
Ok I know I just went on a rage on cheating. This post is going to be a little different though. I have had this on thought on my mind. In the Spring NFL Teams draft College QB's to be there Frachise QB's. What I whant to know is why they do not play these guys from the beginning instead of letting them set? I know they are young and experinced, but bringing them along slowly on the field. I was glad the Steelers did it with Ben Roethlisberger in 2003. The Dallas Cowboys did it with Troy Aikman in his first season, He might of went 1 and 15 but he is now in the hall of fame. Doing so gives the fans cofidence in there team that they are committed to this guy. I really feel that if they felt this great about him when they drafted him and paid him the big bucks, let him play, not stand on the side line holding the clip board. What is he going to learn from that?

All I am thinking is let him play. He may be bad but on playing makes him better.I would like to know your thoughts on this.

May the force be with you.

Lies and Cheating in the NFL!!!
As you all know the New England Patriots have been caught taping the jets coach in order to get an advantage on what defensive plays were being called. I have her that at the beginning season the Commissoner put out a statement that stealing play will not be tolerated. I have heard many stories on the radio saying that all of the teams probably do it, but for what? If a team was really smart they would change the signals for the up coming games. The reason behind this blog though I was going through my daily sports news and came across an article with an interview from madden and he said "Every coach in the world is always pushing to get a competitive advantage, that's always been happening." My thought to that is it doesnt give you an competitive edge. It cheating, stealing what ever you want to call it. It give the other team an advantage, cause they know what defense play is coming as the defense knows it coming. This gives the coach the right to call in a adidable to a new play to gain yardage or even a touchdown. If you are really competitative athelete you would use mind games to get ahead. This is cheating. If every team knew what was going to be called this makes the games no fun to watch.

I know that many of you out probably think I am wrong. But to me I feel this had cost my team 2 superbowl appearance and maybe even rings. Cause for a fact I know in 2003 the steelers beat the patriots breaking the winning streak. Then in the playoff it seem the Patriots knew what was going to happen before it happened and scored. I feel cheating is wrong and they should get a big punishment. I would like to know what your thoughts and feeling are? What other things have you heard of that was done that would be considered cheating.

May the Force be with You!

Sports Superstitions
Monday, September 10, 2007
Being the sports nut that I am I thought that this would be a really good topic. I have heard of all kinds. In Basketball Micheal Jordan always puts his right shoe on before his left cause it is bad luck for him to put the left one on first. He also always wears his North Carolina Shorts under his game shorts. Did this him play better? It is hard to say. Another one would be Moses Alou Peed on his hands before every game cause he thought it helped him hit better. Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers did not shave until after they won Superbowl 40. He thought since they kept winning that it would be bad luck and they would lose. Another one I found was Wade Boggs would only eat chicken before every game. Nomar Garciaparra gets dressed the same way everyday and Steps on each dugout step with both feet and tugs his batting gloves and taps his toes during each at- bat.

I went and did some search to find some other here is what I found.

Baseball
1. Spitting into your hand before picking up the bat is said to bring good luck.
2. A wad of gum stuck on a player's hat brings good luck.
3. It is bad luck if a dog walks across the diamond before the first pitch.
3. Some players believe it is good luck to step on one of the bases before running off the field at the end of an inning.
4. It is bad luck to touch the baselines while running off and onto the field between innings.
5. Lending a bat to a fellow player is a serious jinx.
6. Some players actually sleep with their bat to break out of a hitting slump or stay in a groove.
7. If a pitcher is throwing a perfect game or a no-hitter, never speak of it while it's going on.

Basketball

1. The last person to shoot a basket during the warm-up will have a good game.
2. Wipe the soles of your sneakers for good luck.
3. Bounce the ball before taking a foul shot for good luck.

Football

1. Double numbers on a player's uniform brings good luck.
2. It's bad luck for a professional football player to take a new number when he traded traded to another team.
3. A mascot is an important good luck symbol

Does anyone out there in Sports land know of any other superstitions that they can contribute? Please Feel free to post.

May the force be with you!

College Football
As I set her and go over some of the Scores from this past weekend. Something Really caught my Eye. Two Teams I felt could of Competed for the National Championship are 0 and 2. Michigan and Notre Dame. Michigan was rated in the top in the first poll of the year, but they get beat by Appalachian ST. Michigan has done a big Downward Spiral. They could very well start the Season 0 and 3. There Starting QB Chad Henne was injured in the lose to Oregon and Freshman Ryan Mallett. Could this spell the end of the Coach Carr era at Michigan? I doubt it but if they don't win a game watch out.
At Notre Dame this was supposed to be Charlie Weiss Break out year. I feel that there is question there also. He has now used 3 QB. From what I hear the Freshman Jimmy Clausen will be starting again. I thought he was supposed to taken them to a national title game from the first time he stepped on campus. He better beat Michigan this weekend or the fans of ND and going to be causing a stir. They need to give him time though. There is still some recruiting that needs to be done. I feel that having good seasons the last two years raised the bar. They have a young ball club that will take some time to gel.

So I think this game this weekend will be one of the better match up's. I think both teams need to get a win to get the monkey off there back. If ND Loses that will be 2 loses against the big 10. They fans will be upset. If Michigan loses do they stop and stay wait til next year?

Anyone out there seen any big surprises in the first 2 weeks of the season? Also has anyone seen any Early Heisman Candidate's?

May the Force be with you!

NFL Week 1 Sunday
Finally the NFL kicks off to a great weekend. I watched a lot of great games this weekend. Even though the Steelers weren’t on Television in my area, I was very happy with the outcome. Ben Roethlisberger threw for a career high 4 touchdowns and led the Steelers to victory over the Cleveland Browns. I also got to see the end of the Raiders and Lions Game, I must say that the Lions have a great offense. They really surprised Me. I know the Raiders are in rebuilding mode, but they are still going to get kicked around this year.

The Game I got to watch that really surprised me was the Chicago Bears and the San Diego Chargers. The Defending NFC Champs played great on Defense, but the offense has a LONG Way to go. Everyone wants to blame this on Rex Grossman. I would give him couple more games and if he keeps playing like that bench him. So you ask who would I play as QB, Well I would have to go with Kyle Orton. I know he is a 3rd year player, but he knows how to win. I think in my opinion he could be another Tom Brady, but that is only my opinion.

The other game I caught bits and pieces of was the New York Jets and the New England Patriots. I really like what I see in New England. They have a really good defense and a high power offense. They kind of remind me of the San Francisco 49ers of the 80’s. The poor JETS, lose there QB and cannot get nothing going on Offense. The thing that makes it really bad is the as Pennington Hopes off the field the fans are cheering. That Show they are really loyal to there QB.

Like I stated before I did not get to see all the games. I picked a couple to write about. Feel free to leave a review of any of the other games. Let me know what your reaction were to week one.

May the Force be with you!

Welcome to Open Weekend of the NFL
Thursday, September 6, 2007
Hello everyone out there and welcome to the start of the best sport to watch. The NFL opens up tonight with there kickoff game. Being the steelers fan that I am, I wish that my team was on, But since they are not I will still be watching the game. The Surprise of last season New Orleans Saints take on the Defending Superbowl Champs Indianapolis Colts. If you read my early post NFL Preview, I do not think the Colts can repeat. I think they lost to many weapons on defense. The Saints are great on offense and they will go far with a good offense, but there defense has a lot to prove this year. So Going on that I think this game will be a good one to watch. Reggie Bush is one of the best running backs in the league and this could be his break out year. Peyton Manning is probably the best QB in the league at gaming playing and studying his opposition. I am really excited to watch the game.

I will be writing to all of you out there with my picks of the week. I am not going to pick every game, but I am going to chose 4 games and an upset of the week. I will pick a variety of games depending on my mood.

So here we go:

Saint over Colts
Bears over Charges
Redskins over Dolphins
Cardinals over 49er's

Upset of the week

Bills over the Broncos
